Basketball Recap: Clover Garden School Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Chatham Charter came into Tuesday's matchup looking for another win against Clover Garden School, but Hanna Tickle wouldn't allow it. The Clover Garden School Grizzlies walked away with a 32-24 victory over the Chatham Charter Knights on Tuesday thanks in part to Tickle, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 boards. That makes it 18 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Clover Garden School's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Brandi Markham, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. Those 11 points gave her a new career-high.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kynzie Jordan, who posted two points and five boards. Peyton York was another key player, putting up six points and three blocks.

Clover Garden School is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.8 points over those games. As for Chatham Charter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-14.

Clover Garden School didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-26 loss against Bethany Community on the 5th. As for Chatham Charter, they will square off against Southern Wake Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
