The Jefferson Dragons will head out to take on the Bloomingdale Bulls at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Jefferson 4, Bloomingdale 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
While Jefferson's win against East Bay wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Jefferson's pitchers stepped up to hand East Bay a 1-0 shutout on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Dragons.
Jefferson saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Galban, who went 2-for-3 with one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bloomingdale, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against Robinson on Thursday by a score of 3-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The Bulls haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Javier Navas-Hoyer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.
On the hitting side, Isaiah Perez was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.
Bloomingdale pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Jefferson, their record is now 8-4.
Bloomingdale's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Jefferson has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .432. It's a different story for Bloomingdale, though, as they've only averaged .351. Will they be able to contain Jefferson's hitters?
Jefferson took their victory against Bloomingdale in their previous matchup back in February by a conclusive 6-0. Will Jefferson repeat their success, or does Bloomingdale have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
