Basketball Recap: LaFayette Bulldogs vs. Loachapoka Indians

LaFayette was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 49-25 to the Loachapoka Indians. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-24 last Wednesday.

Leading Loachapoka to victory were Amanda Harris and Essense Key. Harris went 5 for 12 en route to 14 points and five rebounds, while Key dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. Key has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Sanaa Drummond was another key player, putting up four points and five steals.

LaFayette's defeat dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Loachapoka, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8.

LaFayette has already played their next match (against Handley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Loachapoka will take on Reeltown at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
