University Heights faced South Warren in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Blazers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Spartans 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Blazers sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Hayden Hunt was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

University Heights pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for South Warren, their loss dropped their record down to 16-4.

Looking ahead, University Heights is taking a road trip to challenge Union County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for South Warren, they will host Greenwood at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
