Preview: Bonnabel Bruins vs. East Jefferson Warriors
Bonnabel and East Jefferson are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Bonnabel Bruins will head out on the road to take on the East Jefferson Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. East Jefferson took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Bonnabel, who comes in off a win.
Bonnabel posted their biggest victory since December 6, 2023 on Tuesday. They blew past John Ehret 51-24 at home. The victory was just what Bonnabel needed coming off of a 59-22 defeat in their prior contest.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bonnabel to victory, but perhaps none more so than La?Nyah Laneair, who scored 20 points. Anaiah Perry was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Meanwhile, East Jefferson was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 31-27 to West Jefferson. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for East Jefferson in their matchups with West Jefferson: they've now lost six in a row.
Bonnabel's win bumped their record up to 7-14. As for East Jefferson, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Bonnabel against East Jefferson when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 58-11 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bonnabel since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
