Basketball Recap: Sullivan County Takes a Loss

Sullivan County lost against Muncy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Sullivan County Griffins fell 46-36 to the Muncy Indians. While losing is never fun, the Griffins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 481st, while the Indians are ranked 238th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Muncy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nathan Rogers, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Rogers is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Stiles Eyer, who posted 12 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Sullivan County is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6. As for Muncy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-2.

Sullivan County will be playing in front of their home fans against Bucktail at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Muncy, they will face off against Columbia Montour Vo-Tech at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Columbia Montour Vo-Tech: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Muncy has snatched up nine consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.
