Basketball Recap: Scottsdale Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Scottsdale Christian Academy saw some tournament action on Friday. They lost 59-33 to the Desert Mountain Wolves. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Desert Mountain to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caroline Workman, who went 6 of 13 on her way to 14 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Aguirre, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds.

Scottsdale Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Desert Mountain, they moved to 5-5 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Scottsdale Christian Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pima at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Pima's defense has only allowed 22.3 points per game this season, so Scottsdale Christian Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Desert Mountain, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 74-46 loss against Skyline on the 28th.
