Baseball Game Preview: Rolesville Rams vs. Wakefield Wolverines

Rolesville hasn't had much luck against Wakefield recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Rams will welcome the Wolverines at 1:00 p.m. Neither Rolesville nor Wakefield posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Rolesville managed to slip by East Wake the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Rams lost 9-2 to the Warriors on Tuesday.

Rolesville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Richie Font, who went 2-for-3 with one double. Braeden Walsh also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Wakefield ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Leesville Road 2-1. The win was some much needed relief for the Wolverines as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Rolesville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Wakefield, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
