Baseball Game Preview: Mary Star of the Sea Stars vs. St. Genevieve Valiants

For the second straight game, Mary Star of the Sea will face off against St. Genevieve. Mary Star of the Sea will be playing at home against St. Genevieve at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Mary Star of the Sea made easy work of St. Genevieve and carried off a 9-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Stars, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Joshua Pike looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in February.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Riley Vuoso, who scored a run and stole four bases while going 4-for-4. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rogelio Ramirez, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

St. Genevieve's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Mary Star of the Sea, the win got them back to even at 6-6-1.
