Volleyball Recap: Big Valley Christian Gets the Win + How To Watch

After losing to Merced the last time they met, Big Valley Christian decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lions walked away with a 3-1 win over the Bears on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Big Valley Christian was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-27, 25-17, 25-19.

Big Valley Christian found their leader in freshman Caitlin Echegoyen, who had 21 digs and four aces. Those 21 digs set a new season-high mark for Echegoyen. Cassi Meems also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Big Valley Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Big Valley Christian's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Merced, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.

Big Valley Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Buhach Colony on the 10th. After both having extra time off, Merced and Summerville will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
