It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Carlsbad can now relate to. They fell 20-16 to the Cathedral Catholic Dons on Tuesday. Several Lancers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Eli MacNeal, who threw for 289 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 86.4% of his passes. A healthy portion of MacNeal's aerial production (96 yards to be exact) went to Darian Webb.

Honor Faalave produced another solid effort rushing for 114 yards and two touchdowns, while also picking up 56 receiving yards for Cathedral Catholic. Another player making a difference was Isaac Cook, who picked up 93 receiving yards and one score.

Carlsbad's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Cathedral Catholic, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Carlsbad does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cathedral Catholic, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Los Alamitos at 7:30 p.m. on the 5th.
