Soccer Recap: Marathon Comes Up Short

Marathon lost against Key West back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Dolphins lost 7-0 to the Conchs. While losing is never fun, Marathon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 418th, while Key West are ranked 140th).

Marathon is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8-1. As for Key West, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2-3 record this season.

Marathon has already played their next matchup (against Downtown Doral), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Key West will take on Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) in a holiday battle at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
