Soccer Recap: St. Michael's Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

St. Michael won the last time they faced TMI-Episcopal and things went their way on Tuesday too. The St. Michael's Warriors came out on top against the TMI-Episcopal Panthers by a score of 3-1. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 169th, while the Panthers are ranked 430th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gabriel Zorio and Chris Wheeler scored all three of St. Michael's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

St. Michael's has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those five matches. As for TMI-Episcopal, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-6-2.

St. Michael's will be playing in front of their home fans against Antonian Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Michael's is facing Antonian Prep at the right time seeing as Antonian Prep is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for TMI-Episcopal, they are taking a road trip to square off against Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Central Catholic will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something TMI-Episcopal surely won't give up without a fight.
