Softball Recap: Berea Takes a Loss

Berea couldn't beat Model on Tuesday even though they stacked six runs on them in the sixth inning. The Pirates fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 10-9. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, with their most recent loss being a 7-5 defeat last Thursday.

Berea has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Model, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Berea will venture away from home to face off against Powell County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Berea's pitchers better be ready for this one: Powell County has averaged an impressive 10.7 runs per game this season. As for Model, they will square off against Pineville at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
