Lake Catholic won the last time they faced Tuslaw and Ava Starr did her part to make sure it happened again. The Cougars blew past the Mustangs 3-0 on Tuesday for which the team can thank Starr, who had six digs and four aces. Starr is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 19 every time she's taken the court this season.
The final score came out to 25-11, 25-17, 25-10.
Lake Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lola Loncar led the charge by getting 14 digs and five aces. Those five aces gave Loncar a new career-high.
They weren't the only good servers: Lake Catholic was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Norwayne made easy work of Wickliffe on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 win.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Norwayne was: they took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-8, 25-8.
Lake Catholic better keep an eye on CJ Moore. She was instrumental in Norwayne's win, getting eight aces and six digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Smithberger, who had 11 assists and four digs.
Lake Catholic's record is now 14-10. As for Norwayne, their record now sits at 21-3.
