Baseball Game Preview: Fisher Bunnies vs. Oakwood Comets

The Fisher Bunnies will face off against the Oakwood Comets at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Fisher barely beat Cissna Park the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Fisher put the hurt on Cissna Park with a sharp 15-5 victory on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bunnies considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Jaymz Hammock was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up three earned runs but no hits. Hammock was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Jesse Arndt was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Weston Ensign was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

Oakwood never got on the board in their matchup on Monday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Danville on Tuesday. They blew past the Vikings 16-1. The win continues a trend for the Comets in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won four in a row.

Oakwood got a big performance out of Carsen Dudley, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. What's more, Dudley posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Harrison, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Oakwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory got Fisher back to even at 1-1. As for Oakwood, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
