Football Recap: Ritchie County Starts Season with Defeat at Home + How To Watch

Ritchie County unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Tyler Knights on Friday, falling 38-14. The game was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly the Rebels struggled afterwards.

Although Ritchie County took the loss, they still got scores from Hunter McCray and Turner Shriver.

Even if they lost, Ritchie County's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leading the way was Aiden Compton with two.

Tyler was led to victory by Gideon Winfrey and Reese Davis. Winfrey gained 124 total yards, while Davis rushed for 59 yards and two scores.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ritchie County will take on Doddridge County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tyler, they will face off against Wahama at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
