Softball Recap: Newman Comes Up Short

Newman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 17-2 to the Assumption Royals. If the Fighting Cardinals were looking for revenge after losing 12-6 to the Royals when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Newman's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Assumption, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

While Newman had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
