Soccer Game Preview: Chelsea Academy vs. New Covenant

Chelsea Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They never let Timberlake Christian get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. Chelsea Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by three goals or more this season.

They hit Timberlake Christian with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Margaret Shealy (2), Fiona McFadden, and Ava Barvick.

Meanwhile, New Covenant had just enough and edged out Grace Christian 1-0 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for New Covenant in their matchups with Grace Christian: they've now won seven in a row.

Chelsea Academy's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five matches. As for New Covenant, their record now sits at 8-5.

Chelsea Academy came up short against New Covenant in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, falling 5-3. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
