Volleyball Recap: South Florence Bruins vs. Wilson Tigers

After flying high against Lakewood on Tuesday, South Florence came back down to earth. The Bruins fell just short of the Wilson Tigers by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Bruins in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost six in a row.

South Florence started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 21-25, 26-24, 25-22, 15-9.

Despite the defeat, South Florence saw an underclassman step up: freshman Baylor Gregg had 26 digs and two aces. Gregg is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Wilson found their leader in sophomore Madison Moses, who had 15 digs. Caitlyn Quick also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.

South Florence's loss dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Wilson, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
