Softball Recap: Jordan Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Jordan had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Chapel Hill Tigers as they made off with a 14-4 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-4 back in March.

The team relied heavily on Kylie Specht, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jacqueline (JJ) Thornburg, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Jordan pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Chapel Hill, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jordan will square off against East Chapel Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight. As for Chapel Hill, they will challenge Riverside-Durham at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
