Volleyball Recap: Calvary Christian Takes a Loss

Calvary Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Emmanuel Christian Academy Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on September 11th.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-21, 25-19.

Leading Emmanuel Christian Academy to victory were Mya Lawrence and Pheoby Hamastra. Lawrence had 16 digs and four aces, while Hamastra had 23 digs and two aces. Hamastra has been hot, having posted 16 or more digs the last six times she's played. Nevaeh Skaggs was another key player, getting five kills, three digs, and three aces.

Calvary Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Emmanuel Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 11-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calvary Christian will welcome Yellow Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Emmanuel Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against National Trail at 10:15 a.m.
