Volleyball Game Preview: Waverly Ravens vs. New Covenant Academy Huskies

The Waverly Ravens are taking a road trip to challenge the New Covenant Academy Huskies at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, Waverly was able to grind out a solid victory over Southwestern Academy, taking the game 3-1. That looming 3-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Ravens yet this season.

Waverly had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-18, 25-21, 25-10.

Meanwhile, New Covenant Academy had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Sun as they made off with a 3-0 win.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-15, 25-21.

New Covenant Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Waverly, the win got them back to even at 3-3-2.

Waverly suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to New Covenant Academy when the teams last played back in September of 2024. Can the Ravens avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
