Cherry hasn't had much luck against South Ridge recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Tigers will face off against the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. Cherry is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, Cherry came up short against Rock Ridge co-op [Eveleth-Gilbert/Virginia] and fell 4-1. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, South Ridge got themselves on the board against Mesabi East on Wednesday, but Mesabi East never followed suit. They blew past the Giants 8-0. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by eight runs or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for South Ridge and bumps their season record up to 8-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Cherry, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.

Cherry couldn't quite get it done against South Ridge in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 6-2. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
