Preview: Hannibal Pirates vs. Kirksville Tigers
The Hannibal Pirates will head out on the road to square off against the Kirksville Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hannibal will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 317th, while Kirksville is ranked 152nd).
Last Saturday, Hannibal escaped with a win against Highland by the margin of a single free throw, 43-42. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Hannibal.
Meanwhile, Kirksville was able to grind out a solid win over Moberly on Tuesday, taking the game 61-50.
Hannibal is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-9 record this season. As for Kirksville, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
Hannibal lost to Kirksville on the road by a decisive 60-45 margin when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Hannibal avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
