Softball Recap: Russell Comes Up Short

If Russell was riding high fresh off their 8-2 takedown of Sylvan-Lucas two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Broncos lost 13-3 to the Larned Indians on Tuesday. The match marked the Broncos' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Russell saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daryss Barrera, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

Russell's loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Larned, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Larned beat Russell by a score of 12-2 later that day.
