Baseball Game Preview: Peninsula Seahawks vs. River Ridge Hawks

The Peninsula Seahawks will square off against the River Ridge Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Saturday, Peninsula didn't have quite enough to beat Prairie and fell 2-1. The loss was the Seahawks' first of the season.

Peninsula saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Thomas Marzano, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Matthew Saunders also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Even though they lost, Peninsula hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Prairie struck out eight times.

Meanwhile, River Ridge unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against Bellarmine Prep, falling 12-2.

Having lost for the first time this season, Peninsula fell to 4-1-1. As for River Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Everything went Peninsula's way against River Ridge in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Peninsula made off with an 11-0 victory. Does Peninsula have another victory up their sleeve, or will River Ridge turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
