Haines City came into Friday's game looking for another win against Winter Haven, but Michael Kearney Iii wouldn't allow it. The Blue Devils took down the Hornets 26-7 on Friday for which the team can thank Kearney Iii, who rushed for 194 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries, and also threw for 121 yards and one TD on only nine passes. His longest rush was for an impressive 69 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Despite the loss, Haines City still got an impressive performance from Blake Herrington, who picked up 102 receiving yards and one score.

The victory made it two in a row for Winter Haven and bumps their season record up to 4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 23 points in those games. As for Haines City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winter Haven will square off against Parrish Community at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Blue Devils 13.8, the Bulls 13) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Haines City, they will challenge Davenport at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
