Softball Game Preview: Pajaro Valley Grizzlies vs. Monte Vista Christian Mustangs

Pajaro Valley is 0-10 against Monte Vista Christian since May of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Grizzlies will look to defend their home field against the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Pajaro Valley lost 29-6 to Gonzales on Monday.

Hailey Erskine made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one stolen base. That stolen base was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Nadia Renteria, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last four contests, Monte Vista Christian finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They came up short against Pacific Grove, falling 10-0. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Breakers recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Monte Vista Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Pajaro Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.

Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pajaro Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .347. However, it's not like Monte Vista Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .352. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
