Basketball Recap: Northwest Takes a Loss

If Northwest was feeling good fresh off their 67-34 takedown of Canton South last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Northwest Indians took a 56-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Philadelphia Quakers on Tuesday. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Quakers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2016.

Northwest's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for New Philadelphia, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwest will head out to face off against Triway at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwest is facing Triway at the right time seeing as Triway is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for New Philadelphia, they are taking a road trip to challenge Lexington at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
