Baseball Recap: Mason Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Mason couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Springboro Panthers by a score of 8-6 on Thursday. The Comets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2019.

JJ Darst was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Chase Cox was another key player, earning three RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

With the defeat, Mason broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 22-7. As for Springboro, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 26-9.
