Softball Recap: Palisades Wins Going Away Against Ballantyne Ridge

Palisades came out on top against Ballantyne Ridge on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 14-run first inning. The Pumas blew past the Wolves 15-7. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-6 back in March.

Zahria Montgomery was incredible, firing off four doubles, three RBI, and two runs while going 4-for-5. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Janiya Johnson was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Palisades was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ballantyne Ridge only posted a batting average of .276.

Palisades pushed their record up to 10-12 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Ballantyne Ridge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-14.

Palisades didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 19-2 loss against Ardrey Kell on the 24th. As for Ballantyne Ridge, they have also already played their next contest, a 7-2 defeat against Butler on the 24th.
