After losing to Democracy Prep the last time they met, Math Science & Engineering decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Math Science & Engineering's defense stepped up to hand Democracy Prep a 2-0 shutout on Friday. Those two points were actually the fewest Math Science & Engineering has put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Math Science & Engineering's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-10. As for Democracy Prep, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Math Science & Engineering and Democracy Prep will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time Math Science & Engineering sees the court they'll take on Douglass Academy at 5:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Democracy Prep, their break will end when they face East Harlem at 6:00 p.m. on the 29th.
