Basketball Game Preview: Rock Springs TIGERS vs. Star Valley Braves

Rock Springs is 1-8 against Star Valley since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Rock Springs TIGERS will venture away from home to face off against the Star Valley Braves at 6:30 p.m. Rock Springs knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matchups -- so hopefully Star Valley likes a good challenge.

Rock Springs will head into Friday's contest on the come-up: they were handed a heart-breaking two-point defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Green River on Friday. Rock Springs blew past Green River 68-48. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the TIGERS have posted since December 20, 2024.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Star Valley). They blew past Jackson Hole 73-45 on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Braves sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Rock Springs has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season. As for Star Valley, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-9.

Things could have been worse for Rock Springs, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 70-51 loss to Star Valley in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Rock Springs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
