Basketball Recap: Birdville Comes Up Short

Birdville lost against Lake Dallas back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Birdville Hawks lost to the Lake Dallas Falcons at home by a 53-36 margin. The Hawks' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Lake Dallas got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maizen Gillam out in front who went 6 of 13 en route to 18 points and six rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Gillam has scored at least a third of Lake Dallas' points. Another player making a difference was Haylie Jones, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards.

Birdville's record now sits at 4-12. As for Lake Dallas, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Birdville will host Richland at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lake Dallas, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gainesville at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Lake Dallas has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
