Basketball Preview: South Plaquemines Hurricanes vs. Fisher Gators
After four games on the road, South Plaquemines is heading back home. They will take on the Fisher Gators at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Wednesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, South Plaquemines beat the Green Hornets 56-50.
Kameron Stephenson was the offensive standout of the matchup as he scored 18 points. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Deanel McGee, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Fisher had to suffer through a rough 86-56 loss at the hands of the Green Hornets. Fisher has struggled against the Green Hornets recently, as their match on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
South Plaquemines' victory bumped their record up to 11-16. As for Fisher, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Everything came up roses for South Plaquemines against the Gators in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 70-20 victory. With South Plaquemines ahead 44-16 at the half, the match was all but over already.
