Baseball Recap: Norwell Has No Trouble Against Huntington North

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Norwell and Huntington North had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Knights put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 14-4 win on Thursday. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Drew Graft, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, two RBI, and one double. He has become a key player for Norwell: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Drew Jolley, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Norwell kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Norwell's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-9. As for Huntington North, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Norwell will host Columbia City at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Huntington North, they will welcome Southwood at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a 15-game losing streak.
