Baseball Game Preview: Roaring Fork Rams vs. Cedaredge Bruins

Roaring Fork is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Cedaredge is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Rams will welcome the Bruins at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Roaring Fork turned things around against Basalt on Saturday. They came out on top against the Longhorns by a score of 4-1.

Meanwhile, Cedaredge made easy work of Sargent on Friday and carried off a 13-5 victory. Considering the Bruins have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Tel Geyer made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

In other batting news, Dane Brown was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Makai Salazar, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Cedaredge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in seven consecutive games.

Roaring Fork's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 4-10. As for Cedaredge, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1.

Roaring Fork beat Cedaredge 9-6 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Bruins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
