Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Charles Henderson's Fourth in Last Five Outings

After only two runs in their last match, Charles Henderson made sure to put some runs up on the board against Providence Christian on Tuesday. The Trojans came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 11-8. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Trojans also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2021.

Camille Lewis made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Lewis was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jada Jones, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Calleigh Compton was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Charles Henderson is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Providence Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Charles Henderson will be playing at home against Pike Road at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Providence Christian, they have already played their next matchup, a 17-5 loss against Dale County on the 8th.
