Softball Game Preview: Tussey Mountain Titans vs. Mount Union Trojans

The Tussey Mountain Titans will square off against the Mount Union Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Tussey Mountain's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Mount Union has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Tussey Mountain will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Southern Huntingdon County, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Titans came out on top against the Rockets by a score of 12-7 on Tuesday. Tussey Mountain's victory was all the more impressive since the Rockets were averaging only 3.14 runs allowed on the season.

The team relied heavily on Adyson Weyandt, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubree Weaver, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Tussey Mountain kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Mount Union might've scored the first runs on Wednesday, but it was Curwensville who claimed the real prize. The Trojans came up short against the Golden Tide, falling 13-3.

Tussey Mountain now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Mount Union, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
