Combs skates past St. John Paul II Catholic with ease

The Combs Coyotes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 22 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat St. John Paul II Catholic 70-38 at home. Winning may never get old, but Combs sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Combs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Johnathon Byaus led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Jae Lujan was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.

Combs is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for St. John Paul II Catholic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.

Combs and Florence will face off at 2:30 p.m. on December 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Florence is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 59.2 points per game. St. John Paul II Catholic will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Trivium Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Trivium Prep comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
