Softball Recap: Pisgah Finds Home Field Redemption Against Smoky Mountain

There's no place like home for Pisgah, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They never let the Smoky Mountain Mustangs get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Friday. With that win, the Bears brought their scoring average up to 7.3 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Alexis Markos, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Simpkins, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Markos wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Pisgah kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Pisgah moved to 4-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Smoky Mountain, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-9.

Pisgah wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 10-4 win against Tuscola on the 25th. As for Smoky Mountain, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 defeat against Franklin on the 24th.
