Baseball Recap: Waterloo Wins Going Away Against Deerfield

Waterloo lost to Deerfield back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Pirates blew past the Demons 19-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

The team relied heavily on Bryce Aubart, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Caleb Bullock, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Waterloo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Deerfield only posted an OBP of .370.

Waterloo now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Deerfield, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 2-1.

Waterloo and Deerfield will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Pirates will face off against rival Wisconsin Heights at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Deerfield is set to challenge their familiar foe Parkview at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
