Football Recap: Oceanside Takes a Loss

Oceanside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 28-14 to the Oak Hill Raiders. The Mariners were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2017.

Despite the loss, Oceanside saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Wyatt Banow rushed for 128 yards and one score.

Oceanside's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Oak Hill, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Oceanside will square off against Medomak Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Oak Hill, they will face off against John Bapst Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Crusaders' defense has only allowed 12.2 points per game this season, so the Raiders' offense will have their work cut out for them.
