Basketball Recap: Fairfax Piles Up the Points Against Metro Tech

Fairfax had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 49 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 82-3 win over the Metro Tech Knights. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 95-13 back in December of 2024.

Fairfax's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mayega Enow, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 boards. Enow's evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Jaya Harris, who went 9 of 17 en route to 18 points and seven steals.

Fairfax smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive games.

Fairfax's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.3 points over those games. As for Metro Tech, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.

Fairfax wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 62-28 loss against McClintock on the 4th. As for Metro Tech, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-47 win against Alhambra on the 4th.
