Basketball Recap: Jace Shaw's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mauldin over T.L. Hanna + How To Watch

Mauldin extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 3-5. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-50 heartbreaker at the hands of the T.L. Hanna Yellow Jackets. Mavericks fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Yellow Jackets since Friday.

Several Mavericks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jace Shaw, who posted 15 points. Micah McClintock also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

As for T.L. Hanna, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-1. The final result isn't all that surprising considering their considerable advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Mauldin is ranked 90th).

T.L. Hanna's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jamijay Williams led the charge by putting up 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Allen, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine boards.
