Softball Recap: Urbana Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Urbana's offense. They came up short against the Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs on Wednesday, falling 11-0. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Urbana dropped their record down to 1-10 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Mahomet-Seymour, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Urbana will head out to take on Normal Community at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Ironmen have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Mahomet-Seymour, they are taking a road trip to face off against Taylorville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs are facing the Tornadoes at the right time seeing as the Tornadoes are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
