Lawrence County is 0-3 against Jasper since October of 2018 but things could change  on Friday. The Red Devils will be playing at home against the Vikings  at 7:00  p.m. Lawrence County has given up an average of 32.4  points per game this season, but Friday's  game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Lawrence County managed to slip by Priceville the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Red Devils had to suffer through  a    53-13 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 102nd).

 Despite the  defeat, Lawrence County saw an underclassman step up: freshman  Tavian Jones rushed for 104 yards and a pair of  touchdowns. Jones' rushing production has been exceptional  recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 104  rushing yards.
Meanwhile,  everything came up roses for Jasper against Columbia on Friday as the  team secured  a  61-22 victory. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won five matchups by 25  points or more  so far this season.
Lawrence County better keep an eye on  Micah Pledger. He was instrumental in Jasper's win, rushing for 154 yards and three  scores on only five carries. Those  three  rushing touchdowns gave  Pledger a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Zion Coger, who rushed for 107 yards and one  TD.
 Jasper was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 467  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've managed all season.
 Jasper's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Lawrence County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
Friday's   game might be decided on the ground. Lawrence County has been excellent on the ground this season,  having  averaged 155.9  rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Jasper struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 190  rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's   contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
