Volleyball Recap: Fitch Triumphs

After losing to Norwich Free Academy the last time they met, Fitch decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Falcons walked away with a 3-1 win over the Wildcats on Friday.

The victory didn't come easy: Norwich Free Academy scored at least 22 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 23-25, 25-22, 27-25.

Despite the loss, Norwich Free Academy still got an impressive performance from Sophie Miner, who had 19 digs and two aces. Miner is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last eight games she's played.

Fitch's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Norwich Free Academy, their loss ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6.

Fitch will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Griswold at 5:30 p.m. on the 17th. As for Norwich Free Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Waterford at 6:00 p.m.
