Baseball Recap: Prescott Comes Up Short

Prescott was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 16-6 to the Smackover Buckaroos. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Curley Wolves of the 6-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2019.

Marketric Mixon was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Jayden Purtle was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Prescott's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Smackover, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Prescott wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 22-2 defeat against Fouke on the 7th. As for Smackover, they have also already played their next game, a 20-7 victory against Centerpoint on the 7th.
